The tattoo studio that was scheduled to ink Brazilian car influencer Ricardo Godoi has expressed sorrow over his passing.
On January 20, Ricardo Godoi, famous for his luxury car content on social media, died after reportedly going for a back tattoo and undergoing general anesthesia.

Earlier that day, Godoi informed his 200,000-plus Instagram followers that he was “about to undergo a surgical procedure” and would return to the platform “after 4pm,” according to Mail Online.

Godoi’s death was announced via an Instagram post on January 21, featuring a black and white photo of him with the statement: [Translation] “It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Ricardo Godoi, which occurred today at 12:00 p.m.

“In this moment of grief, we express our solidarity with his family and friends, wishing them strength and comfort to overcome this irreparable loss.

“Information about the wake and burial will be released soon. May Ricardo Godoi’s memory be remembered with affection and respect by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. 02/11/1979 † 20/01/2025”

The caption also highlighted what a remarkable person the influencer was and how he has “left his mark on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

“His joy, generosity and light will continue to be present in our memories and in each story he helped to build. May he rest in peace. Our condolences to family and friends.”

The owner of the tattoo studio has also spoken out, reminiscing on what a “great friend” Godoi was and expressing the studio’s profound regret over his death.

According to Mail Online, the owner mentioned that Godoi was to have a “full back tattoo done” at the studio “under general anesthetic, sedation and intubation.”

The studio indicated that it secured a private hospital with all necessary staff, equipment, and anesthetic drugs for the procedure’s safety and also hired “a doctor with a specialism in anaesthesiology and experience in intubation, whose documentation was approved by the hospital.”

“Blood tests were requested beforehand, which showed no explicit risk in carrying out the procedure. Ricardo signed the consent form regarding the risk of the procedure,” the statement continued.

The owner revealed that Godoi “went into cardiac arrest” “at the beginning of the sedation and intubation” and “that occurred before they even started tattooing him.”

The owner concluded: “He was quickly checked and a cardiologist was called in to try to revive him, unfortunately without success.”

Authorities have reportedly initiated an investigation into Godoi’s death.

Fans of the car influencer have quickly congregated on his profile to express their tributes.

One Instagram user remarked: “I can’t believe it until now, but his stories with his kids yesterday at the pool, the situation is too punk.”

“Doesn’t seem real… Rest in peace to my brother! Much strength to the family!” another commented.
