Trace Cyrus has accused his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, of threatening legal action following Trace’s public call for the country singer to seek help.
Trace, known for his role in Metro Station, is one of Billy Ray’s six children. Billy Ray is also the father of acclaimed artist Miley Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus, and Christopher Cyrus.

The country icon, who gained fame with his 1992 hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart’, recently raised concerns with his erratic performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Trace, aged 35, quickly reached out publicly to his famous father, expressing concerns about the singer’s well-being.

He wrote in a heartfelt Instagram message: “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you.

“The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now.

“It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.”

Trace further expressed that his appeal ‘comes from a place of love’, stating his willingness to support Billy Ray in seeking assistance.

However, the social media post seems to have not been well-received by Billy Ray, as Trace now claims his father has threatened to take legal action against him.

In a recent Instagram update shared yesterday (January 25), Trace stated: “Dad my message was beyond loving.

“I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace.”

The fiery post continued: “Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I’m not. Get help.”

Initially, the message was shared on Trace’s Instagram Story, and later, the ‘Shake It’ singer also posted it on his main feed.
