There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Jake Paul’s bout with Mike Tyson, with some questioning whether the fight was pre-planned.
Before the match, a supposed ‘script’ surfaced online, claiming to predict the outcome of the much-anticipated fight. The document detailed the initial rounds and implied that the result was orchestrated for Paul to deliver a knockout punch to Tyson in the fifth round.
Contrary to these claims, Tyson managed to last all eight rounds. Ultimately, Paul was declared the winner by the judges, who scored the match 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in Paul’s favor.
In his post-fight comments, Paul hinted that he didn’t push too hard against his seasoned 58-year-old adversary.
When questioned about whether he eased up in the later rounds, Paul responded: “Yeah, definitely, definitely a bit. I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want [to hurt him].”
However, some fans believe Tyson may have intentionally held back, pointing to a specific moment in the fight where he appeared to lose control.
The incident occurred when Tyson, the 58-year-old boxing icon, landed a solid jab on Paul’s face, causing him to stumble.
This prompted some Netflix viewers to claim they saw the true Iron Mike Tyson in action.
“Mike still got it in him,” one Twitter user remarked, paired with a slow-motion replay of one of Tyson’s punches.
Another user replied: “Mike was holding back,” suggesting Tyson could have overpowered Jake. They added, “He just held back because the contract had to have Jake winning.”
Echoing these thoughts, another user commented: “The fight was rigged. Have you not seen his training videos?”
Another observer noted: “The young Mike Tyson would have gotten three or four shots off. Perhaps there was a clause not to knock out Paul.”
Some people, however, argued that Tyson was simply too fatigued to maintain the intensity needed for such hits.
“The first round was Mike’s, but after that he was winded,” one viewer contended.
Another remarked, “Can we be realistic. The man is done.”
Despite these opinions, Tyson hasn’t called it quits and has even challenged Logan Paul as his next opponent.
Inquiring about his future plans, Tyson was asked: “You got more in you, who crosses the mind?”
Tyson responded: “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe [Jake’s] brother.”
Surprised by the proposition, Logan retorted that he’d ‘kill’ Tyson in a bout.
