Relocating to a new country can be both daunting and thrilling, yet a man has cautioned those considering a move to Australia.
Australia is a favored destination for individuals seeking a change in their lives, but there is a warning against making the country seem too perfect.
When Australia comes to mind, you might imagine beaches, beers, warm weather, and perhaps an occasional dangerous creature.
Overall, it seems like a fantastic place to reside, especially if you are coming from a place with dreary weather, offering a refreshing shift in lifestyle.
However, a TikToker has advised against making the significant move due to the challenges he encountered while relocating to Sydney.
In fact, Jordan Morris, from Northern Ireland, has opted to leave the country after just three weeks.
In a video, he shared: “Think we underestimated just how difficult it is to get set up here in Sydney.
“After only three weeks, we are leaving the country.”
Morris mentioned that their ‘current situation’ made it ‘incredibly difficult’ to find a permanent place to live.
“One of the lads is still back home in Northern Ireland, so we’re trying to secure a three-bed flat with only two people, and honestly, it’s just proven to be impossible,” he elaborated.
Although he and his friends secured temporary jobs on a construction site to earn some money, finding a permanent residence proved to be more challenging.
They decided to spend two weeks in Bali, as it is more affordable than staying in Sydney, with hopes of returning to Australia with better luck.
He further noted that contrary to its sunny reputation, the weather isn’t always perfect in the country.
He said: “You don’t have to go out in hoodies, you have to go out in jumpers.
“But it has rained most of the days we’ve been here recently, and it was actually thunder and lightning storms.
“Last night, we got caught up in some torrential rain. Honestly, it’s absolutely crazy.
“I thought I was going to come here to sunshine every single day, but I suppose it still is spring.”
Australians echoed Jordan’s observations in the comments: “It’s seems a lot of people idealise Australia before coming here without truly understanding the reality.”
Therefore, it’s wise to arrange your accommodation before embarking on a journey halfway across the globe.
