For those anticipating Amber Heard’s return to cinema after her highly publicized legal battle with Johnny Depp, it seems unlikely to happen soon.
Amber Heard has moved to Spain with her daughter and appears to have no intention of coming back to the United States.
The actress has even assumed a new name and has stayed away from the public eye since the trial concluded.
Post-trial, Heard, proficient in Spanish, relocated to Madrid with her daughter, amid reports suggesting she was leaving Hollywood due to the trial’s fallout.
Previously, Heard was spotted in a small village in Mallorca, living under an alias until local media unveiled her true identity.
Since then, Heard has settled in Madrid and apparently has no intention of returning to Los Angeles anytime soon.
This plan seems corroborated by the lack of upcoming projects listed on the Aquaman star’s IMDB page.
Heard relocated to Spain following her loss in the US defamation case against Depp.
The legal battle began when Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018, alleging she was a victim of domestic violence.
Although Depp was not explicitly named in the article, he filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard.
In response, Heard filed a $100 million counter-lawsuit against Depp, drawing international media attention.
Ultimately, the jury ruled in favor of both Depp’s original lawsuit and Heard’s counter-lawsuit.
By the end of 2022, all outstanding settlements were believed to be resolved, prompting Heard to move to Spain.
In 2022, a source reportedly close to Heard told PEOPLE: “She is focused on raising her daughter. She spends every day with her girl.
“They stroll around, visit parks and enjoy family time. Amber is a great mom.”
With no new acting projects on the horizon, it appears Heard is not planning to resume her acting career anytime soon.
The actress reportedly adopted the name Martha Jane Cannary, the real name of the famous Wild West figure Calamity Jane.
El Diario de Mallorca noted about the alias: “The choice of this identity, which appears at the entrance of her new Mallorcan home, draws much attention.
“Especially as Johnny Depp always maintained that his family trace their roots to ancient Native American tribes and that his great-great-grandmother was Cherokee.”
