Blake Lively has stated that her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, claimed he had the ability to “speak to the dead” and suggested he could communicate with her deceased father. This allegation is part of a lawsuit she has filed against him.
Both actors appeared together in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s popular novel, with Baldoni also serving as the director of the film. Following the film’s release in August, rumors about potential ‘friction’ between the two surfaced, and Lively faced criticism during the promotional tour for the movie.

Subsequently, Lively has taken legal action against her co-star, accusing Baldoni of engaging in behaviors that were emotionally distressing, according to the lawsuit. She alleged that Baldoni claimed to have communicated with her father, Ernie, who passed away at 74 in June 2021 due to cardiac issues.

The New York Times reported that the lawsuit stated, “For example, he claimed he could speak to the dead, and on several occasions told her that he had spoken to her dead father.” It described the claims as “off-putting and violative” for Lively, given her father’s recent passing.

UNILAD has reached out for comments from the representatives of both Lively and Baldoni.

Additionally, Lively’s lawsuit accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment. The document states that a meeting was necessary during filming due to the alleged working conditions on set, leading Lively to make specific requests.

These requests focused on the film’s content, reportedly including the prohibition of adding sex scenes, oral sex, or onscreen climaxes by Blake Lively beyond what was originally agreed upon in the script she signed.

Furthermore, the requests allegedly prohibited discussions of a sexual nature in her presence and banned references to the genitalia of cast and crew members.

Lively also demanded an end to discussions about her weight, any mention of Baldoni’s alleged past “pornography addiction,” and the prohibition of showing her nude videos or images of women.

The lawsuit asserts that Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer Studios, attempted to “destroy” her reputation through “social manipulation,” resulting in “severe emotional distress” for her and her family.

Bryan Freedman, representing Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, responded in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions.”

The statement further criticized the claims, calling them “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media.”
