Five individuals have reportedly been charged in relation to the death of Liam Payne, including hotel staff members and a friend of his.
In October, news emerged that the former One Direction member had passed away while staying at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Liam, aged 31, along with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, 25, had traveled to the country to support his former bandmate Niall Horan, 31, who was on tour.

Payne was staying on the third floor of the luxury hotel and is believed to have fallen from his balcony into the hotel’s interior courtyard at approximately 17:07 local time (21:07 BST).

The post-mortem examination revealed that he succumbed to ‘multiple traumas’ and ‘internal and external haemorrhage’.

On Sunday (December 29), local news outlet Infobae reported that authorities investigating the case have charged five individuals, including Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, a supposed friend of Payne.

According to News.com.au, Nores left Payne at the hotel roughly an hour before the fatal incident on October 16.

It remains unclear if Nores has been detained by the police, though it is reported that he faces a charge of negligent homicide and is not allowed to leave the country, as reported by Metro.

Hotel managers Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi have supposedly been charged with manslaughter.

Additionally, waiter Braian Paiz and hotel staffer Ezequiel Pereyra are accused of providing Payne with drugs, according to reports.

UNILAD has reached out to the International Criminal Police Organization and Argentina IPA for their comments.

Nores has previously denied any involvement in the death of the former X Factor contestant.

In an interview with TMZ’s documentary, TMZ Presents: Liam Payne: Who’s to Blame, Nores stated that Payne was ‘in good spirits and perfectly balanced’ before his demise.

He expressed in a statement, as reported by E! News: “I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.”

Nores further mentioned that he has not been contacted by any police officer or prosecutor since the incident, and expressed being ‘heartbroken with this tragedy’, missing his friend ‘every day’.

In November, reports indicated that three individuals had been detained and one residence was raided by police concerning Payne’s death. The public prosecutor’s office noted that one of the suspects had been closely accompanying the artist during his stay in Buenos Aires, while the other two were a hotel employee and an alleged ‘drug supplier’.

In November, Payne’s remains were transported back to the UK, and a private service was held at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England, northwest of London.

His former One Direction colleagues Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson were present at the funeral.
