In a GoFundMe post, Diala explains that her earnings as a flight attendant were supporting her growing lingerie and dessert businesses.
Diala recounts that her time with the airline was not without challenges, mentioning the unexpected deaths of both her English bulldogs and a strained relationship due to her travel schedule. Despite these hardships, she expresses her love for the job, the joy of meeting new people, traveling, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for passengers.
During a layover, Diala decided to upload a video celebrating the conclusion of her probation period and overcoming a tough upbringing in San Francisco, California.
She reflects, “I never thought a single moment would cost me everything.”
The video features Diala dancing in the aisle of a plane, lifting a leg onto a seat, and performing various dance moves.
She elaborates, “The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected scrutiny. Although it was a poor decision on my behalf, I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job.”
Diala alleges that her dismissal was due to her employer’s accusation of violating their social media policy, despite her explanation that the video was not meant to harm the company.
“They terminated me without warning. No discussion, no chance to defend myself – and no chance for a thorough and proper investigation,” she asserts.
Diala argues that the video didn’t explicitly mention the airline and claims she is generally careful about her social media posts, describing the job loss as “devastating.”
She has now launched a GoFundMe campaign to support herself after losing her income unexpectedly while she seeks another flight attendant position.
Diala concludes, “I’ve learned from my mistakes and those don’t define me.…We listen and we don’t judge. Thank you for reading my story. Any contribution or even a share means more to me than words can express.”
At the time of writing, the GoFundMe has raised over $900.
