Before assuming office, Donald Trump made a unique declaration about his plans to rejuvenate Hollywood.
Currently, many movie enthusiasts are disillusioned with the state of the film industry. The proliferation of unnecessary sequels, reboots, and prequels has left audiences yearning for something more original. However, few anticipated the introduction of an ambassadorial role aimed at addressing these concerns in Hollywood.

As Donald Trump prepares to be inaugurated today (January 20), he has already outlined his vision for influencing Hollywood.

In a Truth Social post, Trump expressed his desire to appoint Mel Gibson, along with Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone, as special ambassadors.

Trump announced, “It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California. They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”

Despite its seemingly strategic nature, Mel Gibson revealed he learned of this initiative at the same time as the public.

In an interview with Variety, he shared: “I got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised. Nevertheless, I heed the call. My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can.”

He humorously inquired, “Any chance the position comes with an Ambassador’s residence?”

Currently, the specifics of these ambassadorial roles remain vague.

Gibson has been an outspoken supporter of Trump over the years, stating his preference for Trump over Kamala Harris during the election period.

In a video released by TMZ, Gibson explained his voting inclination was predictable. He remarked, “I know what it’ll be like if we let her in. And that ain’t good. Miserable track record. No policies to speak of. She’s got the IQ of a fence post.”
