One might assume that celebrities of the caliber of Justin Bieber or Kim Kardashian can acquire anything they desire, but when it comes to Ferraris, that assumption may be incorrect.

These sleek Italian automobiles are the kind you’d expect to spot at the homes of Bieber or Kardashian, yet both celebrities have encountered restrictions from the esteemed car brand for various reasons.

Bieber, in particular, might find the restrictions on Ferrari ownership frustrating. He once proudly owned a Ferrari 458 Italia F1 Edition, which was enhanced with insights from Ferrari’s F1 team.

Initially white, Bieber customized his Ferrari by having it wrapped in a striking electric blue at West Coast Customs.

According to Carbuyer, the pop star also modified its wheels and the steering wheel’s prancing horse emblem.

The car eventually went up for auction, as noted by Barrett Jackson, which highlighted the “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase Justin Bieber’s 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia F1 Edition custom-built by West Coast Customs.”

“Exterior wrapped in Frozen Blue chrome equipped with a wide-body kit by Liberty Walk includes full custom fender flares, front splitter, side skirt splitter and rear wing,” the listing described.

While these modifications might appeal to car enthusiasts, Ferrari was less than pleased. Let’s delve into the reasons shortly…

Now, let’s discuss Kardashian’s brief stint with Ferrari ownership.

Reports from autoevolution suggest that Kardashian was last seen in a Ferrari back in 2012, though it wasn’t one she purchased herself.

It is rumored that she received the 458 Italia as a wedding gift in 2011 from a businessman from Malaysia, who was later revealed to be involved in financial fraud.

Kardashian no longer holds the status of a Ferrari owner and has since joined the ranks of Cybertruck enthusiasts.

To clarify, Ferrari has stated it does not entirely ‘veto’ any customer. However, the brand imposes restrictions on purchasing certain models and enforces a set of rules Ferrari owners must adhere to after acquisition.

One such rule prohibits unauthorized modifications, a guideline Bieber violated with his customized Ferrari.

Marca further reports that Ferrari disallows customers from selling their cars within the first year—a policy Bieber also disregarded.

Regarding Kardashian, she reportedly neglected to maintain her Ferrari to the standards Ferrari expects from its clients.

Consequently, both celebrities are said to face limitations when purchasing Ferraris and are restricted from buying exclusive models and special editions.

The company stated: “Ferrari reserves the right to decide on special editions.”
