They had the task of announcing the winner for best female actor in a limited series, anthology series made for TV or movie, which went to Jodie Foster for her role in True Detective: Night Country.
The nominees in this category included Cate Blanchett for Disclaimer, Cristin Milioti for The Penguin, Kate Winslet for The Regime, Naomi Watts for Feud: Capote vs the Swans, and Sofía Vergara for Griselda.
As they approached the stage, a wide-angle camera shot captured Rogen and O’Hara from behind before switching to a front-facing view.
Upon reaching the microphone, Rogen shared his thoughts on the camera angle: “Hello. I wanna start by saying this whole angled camera thing is very weird. It’s inelegant, it’s strange.
He added humorously, “This whole half of the room can see my bald spot; I would’ve filled that in. I said no, and I regret that now completely.”
Catherine O’Hara chimed in, telling Rogen, “You’re a beautiful man,” to which he replied, “Thank you, I appreciate that.”
This humorous exchange received an outpouring of praise on social media platforms.
One Twitter user remarked, “Brilliant improv. Simply a masterclass,” while another commented, “Perfect combo!”
Others shared their enjoyment, with one saying, “The best part of the show!!!” and another adding, “Ok that was legit funny. Give it up for the Beavers!”
Another user noted, “Whoever decided to pair Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara together is a genius.”
Rogen and O’Hara were not just paired for the Golden Globes; they are also co-starring in a new comedy series, The Studio.
This series, created by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025.
The show features Rogen as the new head of a film studio, grappling with the challenges of reviving the movie industry amidst various hurdles.
