According to the latest figures from Forbes, the top 12 billionaires globally have accumulated a combined net worth of $2 trillion.

The existence of many wealthy billionaires is well-known, so such an astronomical figure is not entirely unexpected when discussing their total wealth.

However, the data from Forbes indicates that the wealth of these individuals has significantly increased, highlighting the growing disparity between the rich and the rest.

In comparison to Forbes’ 2020 data, the combined wealth of these 12 billionaires has surged by over $1.3 trillion, an increase of 193 percent.

This trend may alarm some, as it suggests that this figure could continue to rise in the coming years.

Despite this, Forbes has identified the top 12 billionaires:

Huang is a new entrant on this list, surpassing Walmart’s Alice Walton since the 2020 data.

The Nvidia cofounder and CEO saw his fortune soar from $4.7 billion in 2020 to an impressive $122.4 billion by 2024.

The discussion of these billionaires and their amassed wealth captured attention on Reddit, with many expressing astonishment at the immense total.

“Fun fact, if you worked really hard at an insanely high paying job of $100 Million dollars a year (more than the CEO of Apple made last year), it would only take you 20 THOUSAND years to earn $2 Trillion,” one Redditor pointed out, while another added: “Yup. Over an average career (40 years, 50 weeks/year, 50hr/week), to get to $1b earned, it would take an average pay of $10,000/hr.”

Some individuals on the billionaire list are also noted on the celebrity leaderboard for private jet usage in 2024.

Data from CelebrityPrivateJetTracker.com reveals that Musk ranked second, as one of the Tesla founder’s planes completed 320 flights in 2024.

The complete top ten list garnered significant attention from another Reddit post, with one user labeling it as ‘shocking’.
